WHAT DOES TIROJ MEAN?

This logo is a concept for interactive lighting design. “TIROJ’’ is the name of a lighting brand inspired by the ancient patterns of light & sun on ‘‘Sialk” potteries, one of the first civilizations of humankind. It is a Kurdish and means sunlight, which selected according to the type and function of the brand’s products.

“Design is not a single object or dimension. Design is messy and complex.” Natasha Jen

So we decided to look from different aspects of logo designing, and it is a kind of multicultural logo that contains specific complexity.

Where is located Tepe “Sialk”?

Sialk Hill, is one of the oldest prehistoric civilizations in Kashan, Iran. That excavation has begun by Professor Roman Girshman on a northern hill Between 1938 and 1933. This hill is the oldest settlement in 6000–5500 BC, but the ziggurat built around 3000 BC, Which divided into northern and southern parts.

For the first time, the pottery wheel created in this civilization. The northern hill pottery is handmade, and the southern hill made with pottery wheels.

Sun symbol in Iranian mythology

The sun has been one of the essential elements of nature in human life. This importance led to various myths and gods considered in multiple civilizations. The sun was significant In Iranian mythology because One of the first religions which it had exceptional attention to the sun was Mithraism, so we can find many ancient objects which they decorated with sun sign.

This jar decorated with geometric shapes and dots around the top of the rim and neck junction, a cruciform design added to the underside of the base, and a radiating pattern around the bottom. Hence, all triangles make a unique sign that we know as an ancient sun.[2]

Thinking behind the logo

The design: Based on these historical motifs and the purpose of the lighting brand, we designed the logo for Tiroj and believe a combination of Culture, Art, and technology can make a better future.
